The enshrined deity Konohana Sakuyabime is the god of alcohol production, and about half of the wineries in the prefecture offer large bottles about halfway through March when farm work begins and they offer wine to those who visit the shrine to worship. There is also a local festival in which corks are used as a sacrifice in order to pray for a good harvest of high-quality grapes in abundance.
