Wooden statue of Bhaisajyaguru(Yakushi Nyorai)

In the dream of Gyoki, a famous monk from the Nara period , a Medicine Buddha, appeared with grapes in his hands, which can be seen on one of the statues at Daizenji Temple (Budoji Temple), and traditionally it is believed that the monk taught this area about grape cultivation. The Medicine Buddha is commonly known as the “Grape Doctor.” Normally, the Medicine Buddha is enshrined in secret, but the statue can be worshipped when it is unveiled once every five years.
